Meal prepping, how to do it!
Meal prepping, what is it and why is it so popular?? Preparing meals allows you to eat healthy every day. At home, at work or on the road.
But how do you do this meal prepping and what do you need?
When you have less time
Now that more and more doors are opening, sports can be done and the children go back to school, you will notice that you have less time, for example, to cook. How easy is it then to prepare your lunch or dinner for the coming days, also called Meal prepping!
What is meal prepping?
Meal prepping means that you can prepare your meals for one or more days. That can be useful if you have little time, but also because you like healthy lunches at work. For example, you cook on Sunday for the whole week.
You put the food in trays in the refrigerator and freezer and take out what you need per day.
When is it useful?
Meal prepping makes it easier to eat healthier. You have your lunch or dinner ready so you always have this ready to go.
Also to prevent food waste
You can also avoid food waste Have a large cauliflower or broccoli in the house, for example, or a bag of green beans? And you do not get everything in time? Then cook all the vegetables and store the part you don’t need right away in the freezer.
It stays good for months.
Tips for meal prepping
Now if you want to go meal prepping, pay attention to this:
- Make sure you have good sealable containers where you can store everything.
- Let cooked food cool thoroughly first.
- If you are cooking for more than two days, put it in the freezer. It keeps for 3 months in the freezer.
- Warm the food in the microwave or in a pan.
- If you make more, put the name and date of freezing on the lid.
- Provide variation

Also consider overnight oats
Also easy, especially if you have little time in the morning is making overnight oats. This you prepare in the evening and take to work in the morning or eat at home for a quick breakfast.
Why is it so easy
I have been a low-carb eater for over a year now and since my husband works at home, he joins me. I sometimes have vegetables left over and by meal prepping this I avoid wasting food and have healthy food ready for when we are in a hurry or someone is eating alone. What I also often do is make a large pan of soup and put it in containers in the refrigerator or freezer.
This is what I eat for lunch. When we bought a new kitchen, I thought a big refrigerator was a bit excessive, but I’ve completely changed my mind! Because how easy it is to put everything in here.
Meal prepping is easy
So Mealprep is easy and reduces food waste, but also provides peace of mind in the evenings when you may not have much time ( and desire) to cook after a busy day at work. I am a fan!
